Wow, I haven't really watched any Larry Bird highlights for awhile, but I say goddamn, homeboy was good. I pretty much wore my Larry Legend SI VHS tape to death as a kid, and used to always watch that and Jordan's Come Fly With Me before playing ball back in the day. I mean, if some old Bird highlights don't get you excited for tomorrow night then I just can't help ya'. This edit/mix is pretty tight, definitely worth a watch on your lunch break.
Curt Schilling looks to tackle the Gaming Industry after 2008. (Best Week Ever Illustration)
The below quote from CNN.com pretty much says it all on Curt Schilling's focus. Let's just hope he's not spending too much time in front of a computer, and remembering that he has a weight incentive program.
"His new focus, post-pitching, will be to oversee the development of a
still-unnamed and shrouded-in-mystery massively multiplayer
role-playing game (MMORPG) that goes by the working title Copernicus."
Sandra Lewis, a teacher from Mass has three original Red Sox songs for your enjoyment. Not a bad job on her part, and you can't fault her effort. Nice job Sandra!
I will just let this do the speaking for itself. It's suffice to say that I was on the friggen ground rolling when I first saw this. Hat's off to my man Tim Clancy, good stuff.
And for those of you looking for some of the best Roger Clemens fiasco logic out there, look no further then Gene Wojciechowski's article he wrote a few days ago.

10 Thoughts that are on my mind this morning:
My Dad pointed out to me how awesome / professional it was of Coco to come in and make that catch in Game 7. After being benched for two strait days in two HUGE games over a rookie, Coco did what he did all year, and that's make a run saving spectacular play in the outfield. If he doesn't get a gold glove this year it's a shame.
Before the playoffs started I decided to be a team player and grow a playoff beard and lets just say I've had better ideas. I look like a fuzzy terrorist due to the fact that my facial hair growing abilities begin and end with my sideburns and chin. Also my girlfriend is not the happiest with this decision to grow it either! I'm sure pics are to come.
The New England Patriots are so good this year it's almost boring to watch their games. Well, almost.
I honestly can't believe that we have to go through the Colorado Rockies to win the World Series, I mean it's just bizarre.
Also, remember when the Red Sox almost traded for Todd Helton before the season even started in the Spring? Yeah seems like a long time ago to me too. And there I was feeling bad for Helton because he was going to be "stuck" on a bad team. Baseball sure is a strange game.
Here's a little video I put together to get you and yours pumped up for the game tonight. SawxBlog will eventually have a lot more videos like this once after I officially launch SawxBlog TV on YouTube. Let's root 'em home tonight. Lets Go Sox!
J.D. Drew slapping fives with part of his posse. (AP Photo)
So Wednesday it is for the Red Sox and their 2007 Playoff run after J.D. Drew, who's getting pretty darn hot at the right time, helped spark the Red Sox to victory with a three run homer in the bottom of the seventh. The Red Sox chose to start the playoffs Wednesday instead of Thursday because it will give them an extra days rest during the series. I think the Red Sox match up great against the Angels, and espeically with it being a short series. I would not want to have to face Sabathia and Carmona in a five game set, either way though, it's the playoffs and the intensity is going to be cranked up for sure. We'll have a lot more analysis on the playoffs in the coming days, but for now it's nice to have accomplished all the regular season goals we could have, so lets sit back, and look back on the AL East Champs one more time.
2007 is the new 1995, not 1978. (SawxBlog Illustration)
Wow. Not only do the Boston Red Sox get the game, but they also get the division in an electrifying night at Fenway Park. How the Red Sox won the division is absolutely sweet. Dice-K pitched another solid game for the Sox, our offense did their job, Paps got his 37th save, Mariano Rivera (who resounds no fear in me at all anymore) gives up a bases clearing triple to Jay Payton to tie the game with two outs in the 9th, Orioles win with a walk-off bunt to A-Rod in extras. Hells Yeah.
This is step one of hopefully three more celebrations for the Red Sox as we now can ease into the playoffs fully rested and ready to kick some ass. We sill have a chance at the best record in the bigs (right now we're tied with the Indians), but either way it was just a sweet night that's going to get us on the good foot heading into the playoffs.
Think about it, Papelbon was in the middle of Fenway tonight in his underwear doing an Irish Jig. As if Papelbon had to do anything additional to endear himself to Red Sox Nation. So lets celebrate Boston and New England, first with a look back to the past, and then a look back to last night.
Below is one of my all-time favorite Red Sox moments. The year, 1990. The pitcher, Jeff Reardon. The catch Tom Brunansky. Nuff' Said.
Now some pictures to prove it on a great night in the Fens. Congratulations to your...

This picture says it all to me. The separation between fan and player is non-existent here. Great shot. (AP Photo)
After last night I now know what I thought, Papelbon is a madman. Look how happy everyone is in the background, watching the Sox celebrate is one of my favorite things to do in the world. From Yaz to Pedro to Paps, it just never gets old. (AP Photo)

Photos of Game 1 of the 2007 World Series. My girlfriend Jeannine and I took my Dad and didn't tell him until we were basically at the Gate. One of the best nights of my life hands down.
On the way home from a good friends wedding Jeannine and I decided to stop off at the Hall of Fame (which never gets old for me), however with limited time we decided to make it a tour of only things Red Sox. Enjoy!
This was the first time I've been to a game with my Dad since the early 90's and it was just awesome, especially with everything that happened with my Mom a few weeks ago. I know she was watching the game with us and had to have been happy to see us happy.
Marathon Monday (Patriots Day) is a great tradition in Boston. The Sox always start early in the a.m. and the marathon is on it's final stage right outside of Kenmore as the game lets out. This is a photo tour of our experiance, enjoy!
This past Mothers Day I was visiting Chicago and attended a Cubs/Phillies game. This was my first time at Wrigley Field and I was embraced by my NL cousins. Chris & I represented the Red Sox and I was congratulated on the 2004 season by numerous Cubbie fans. Here you'll find 11 pics from the game.
Boston.com and Boston Dirt Dogs had a playoff push party at Game On! in Fenway Park on September 19. The game didn't go so well as the Sox lost, however, a lot of people had a good time hanging out while getting to "meet" the trophy!
My brother Chris flew into Boston from Chicago to help me root on and pull for the Sox in the Series. We went right from Logan Airport to the Park and ended up watching the game across the street from Fenway at Bills Bar on Landsdown Street. We looked into scalping tickets but standing room only were going for $1,200 and up!This was a great and memorable day to be able to be with my brother in Boston to see the Red Sox in the World Series. This is a snap shot of two weeks of my life that provided a lot of sorrow, joy, sleep deprivation, and hangovers. Two of the best weeks of my life...
