Yesterday I was contacted by Mike from webstaurantstore.com with the below info-graphic about the cost of beer and hot dogs at baseball parks across the country. Not only is it well put together, but it's also very interesting to look over. A larger version of the info-graphic can be found here, and a few points of interest as they pertain to the Red Sox fan are below:
- While beer at Fenway Park is expensive, it's not tops in the league, with four Teams charging more including the Marlins of all Teams, which is pretty mind boggling. I guess they assume that since nobody goes to the actual games they might as well fleece the rare Florida baseball fan as much as they can.
- If you bought an average ticket, beer, and hot dog Boston would be the most expensive ballpark in baseball. This isn't news to Sox fans, and what ends up pushing the Red Sox over the top is the price of the ticket. The silver lining? The good ol' Fenway Frank is actually one of the more affordable dogs in the game. So there's that...
- The most expensive baseball ticket at face value ever went for $9,999 for a Yankee World Series game in 2009. Wow.

Some of these are wrong man. I paid 7.50 at Camden Yards three weeks ago bro

Yeah, from poking around myself it's hard to find anything current - like this article:
http://bizofbaseball.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4278:from-beer-to-tickets-to-hot-dogs-inside-the-2010-mlb-fan-cost-index&catid=26:editorials&Itemid=39
Which already seems pretty dated, one year later. They listed their sources at the bottom in the above graphic at least - but for the sake of the exercise I'd bet it all looks pretty much the same if current.
Interesting side-note, it doesn't look like ballparks list concession prices anywhere on their sites, which would obviously be the easiest way to tell.

I think this info-graphic has some interesting points like, beer seems to be "cheaper" on the west coast than on the east coast (with the exception of Pirates Stadium) Also, $1 for a dog at Great American Ball Park (Cincinnati)! Wow now if that is true, that is a steal.
