I sure hope a bunch of Red Sox players got together on their off day to watch Monday Night Football, because The New England Patriots showed what it looked like to live up to expectations and win a game. It was business as usual for the Patriots, who took a close game at the half and made it a blowout by the end of the third. Tom Brady picked up right where he left off last year, as the reigning MVP sliced an unconditioned Miami Defense into shreds.
Meanwhile, back in Boston, the Red Sox lost another half game to the Rays and Yanks - and now only have a three game lead in the Wild Card and are four back of the Yanks. The Sox host the Blue Jays for their final home stand of the year tonight, and each win or loss has obviously gained an added weight. The AL East is going to be beating up on each other pretty hard over these next few weeks, and on paper at least, the Red Sox have a much easier schedule than the Rays. But the Sox can't get too far ahead of themselves, which I think they already did, and is why they're in the position they're currently in. It''s time for them to drink some Bill Belichick Kool-Aid and focus on each game at hand while trusting in each other.
Back in April the Red Sox infamously began the year 2-12 and people clamored onto the band wagon to declare them already dead. They ended up finishing that month 9-5, winning 8 out of 9 games at one point, and just like that - the ship was back on course, and the Red Sox became the Team we all thought they were. Now it's September and some awful Déjà vu is in the works. They Sox are 2-11 and have all but erased the hard work done in the dog days of Summer. But there's no reason they can't turn it around, and last night was a needed day off for them, and hopefully the Pats did remind them what a winner looks like. There's no reason they can't finish strong, they've done it before, and that'd be some Déjà vu I think all of us could handle.

I think this has less to do with Brady and the Pats and more to do with the fact your pitching staff is in shambles. After Lester, as of today... Who do you have? The fact the Rays swept you was unexpected. I really didn't think you guys would fold like that. I'd err on the side of caution if I were the Sox. I don't think the EPIC collapse will actually come to fruition. However it looks, as of today... Like a possibility. On a different note it looks like Granderson lost the MVP contention these past few weeks. I think Cabrera should win it but Gonzo or Elsbury wouldbt be bad picks either... Even though I don't think they stand up to Cabrera.

PS. I'm loving the Orange Terror Level mega alert. It's my fave part of the site.

My vote would either be for Jacoby or Verlander, one because I'm a homer, two because he's unreal this year. But Jacoby's def in the mix.
Our pitching has gone through a rough patch, but Beckett's back this weekend - who do you guys have besides CC?
Our Team are offensively driven - if that goes dry we lose.
