Despite losing three of four to the Rays the Red Sox still have a two game lead in the Wild Card with ten games to go, but that's slight consolation as their epic tailspin continues with panic on the rise. Quite frankly, the Red Sox don't deserve to make it into the playoffs. They are an uninspired and boring team to watch. I thought the intensity of this weekend's Series would serve as a wake up call for them but I was wrong. They're a Dead Team walking right now, and even if they limp into the playoffs, expectations should be set to zero - Teams that go 4-13 in September don't win the World Series.

Actually, the MFY went 3-15 in their final 18 games in 2000 and won the World Series.
Keep the faith, Derek.

Woah, that's a pretty incredible stat, did not remember that one - impressive.
I fear the one two combo of Weiland and Lackey this afternoon, if we can somehow get two wins today it'd be huge.
Holding onto Hope - but they have to start playing like they care, or I may lose my grip soon.

The "MFY" might have had a pitiful September in 2000. But youre not the 2000 Yankees. Sorry. Both the Sox and the Yankees have glaring weaknesses this season. You can "keep the faith" all you'd like but Kevin Milar now hosts a show on the MLB network and wife bearing Manny is currently chilling with his Steroid "Jazz hands" in Florida. Derek saying the team Played uninspired ball this past weekend is dead on balls accurate. I've seen the same uninspired ball down the stretch from past "MFY" teams and it never ended well. That being said maybe you'll win both games today and catch the Yankees to regain the ALeast next week. Or maybe this is what it is. A banged up dead team walking. My Yanks aren't going anywhere either in my opinion but at least they are a shoe in for the playoffs.
