Once the Red Sox truck pulls out of Fenway, the Winter warms in Boston. (SawxBlog Illustration)
Truckin', I'm a goin' home. Whoa whoa baby, back where I belong
Back home, sit down and patch my bones, and get back truckin' on.
-Grateful Dead, "Truckin'"
Truck Day for Boston is akin to Phil for Punxsutawney. No matter the weather - it serves as a ray of sunshine, and more importantly - it's a sign of hope. The end is neigh.
This winter has been epic for us Boston residents. Snow fall has besieged the city in a greedy blitzkrieg that's left our fine citizens tired, cranky, and "Shining" crazy. Super Sunday presented us with the first sunny day in recent memory, and now with Truck Day upon us, the light is realized at the end of the tunnel. We will dig out of this wintery mix, and at the end - there will be baseball.
Truck Day has also awoken SawxBlog from it's annual Salinger Seclusion - and with everything that went on this past winter, it's guaranteed to be a great ride, and I look forward to truckin' along with all of you deep into October - I got my chips cashed in.
