Theo has played a strong game of poker since he's become the Red Sox G.M. (Sawxblog Illustration)

This is just great news for Red Sox fans all around. Theo has been a heady, modern, and thoroughly professional edition to the Red Sox organization. And in my opinion, is one of numerous reasons why I'm glad we've distanced our selves from the old regime of Tom Yawkey.
Theo has not always been perfect (Gagme, Rent-A-Wreck, etc.) but no G.M. in any sport is. And with the added fact that Theo is from Brookline-Zoo with the scrutiny of the Boston media and fans alike, I'd say he's exceeded all expectations, and dare I say it, is the best G.M. in baseball. Yeah the Sox have had money, but so have a lot of other teams, including a rather high profile rival.
The true genius of Theo is (as my buddy Josh pointed out to me) is his ability to hire and trust the right people, and his revitalization of the farm system. We've been drafting players who are 2-4 years away from MLB service which is just impressive as all hell. Just look at the homegrown players on the 2004 squad compared to now. I literally think Youk was the only one on the playoff roster and he didn't even play.
So congrats to both Theo and the Red Sox, you're a beautiful couple.
