Can't argue there buddy. Yanks don't even deserve to be mentioned along side the word "playoffs" this year. The funny thing is, some analysts STILL freakin mention them like they aren't dead. It's hilarious. They have been dead since they lost the final game of the last series played at Fenway. I would never try and deflect anyones most negative bashing of them.
You gotta admit, payroll or not... 13 years is a hell of a run. See ya net year.

Your hate of Yankee Stadium is a little childish, but then again so was my laughter when finding out that Brady was out for the season and I felt the collective hearts of NE sports fans cry. Clean hit PS.

Go Rays.

Oh and please tell me you find some of what Curt Schilling to be ridiculous. He is such a wind bag... and is he even relevant anymore? Every time he speaks he loses credibility pretty much everywhere outside of Boston. Did he forget the Giants beat the Pats in the Superbowl? NY is on top at least in one of the sports. Boom.

Derek Hixon

All I have to say is when Osi became injured and gone for the season no one in Boston cared, and he's the best player on the Giants in my opinion (sorry Eli). That's all I'm saying, I know Brady's the QB and is a Mega-ton-star (whatever that means) but it's just funny how obsessed NY's become with Boston sports. The big brother complex seems to have done a 180.

Hey if it makes you feel better, or more important to believe that, then that is your right. I would attribute it more to the fact that the Patriots started showing off, mouthing off and participating in some classless acts.
Personally... I didn't care about the fact that they will prob not get to the SB without Brady. It was more about - the obnoxious Boston fans, and the obnoxious antics of bellichick and the Pats in general.

I hope I clarified. I am sure there are alot of NY sports fans out there who def fit the mold of what you are talking about. But I certainly dont fall into that category.

i can care less about Basketball. In fact I will go on record saying that I hope the Celtics win every year, as long as the Knicks do not. I hate the Knicks. The Sox... well they are just a more well oiled franchise right now. In just about every facet. And of course I want that to change, and it will eventually. The Yankees will always be the yankees. Their geographical location will always insure they have the most money, and that people will want to play for them. So... I'm not that concerned. you guys already won. Curse over, dream over. It was fun while it lasted. So now I just look fwd to improvements.
And as for football, well like I said the Pats were just obnoxious. Might I add... i actually ROOTED for them years ago before they became a "dynasty." So please dont point the finger at me broham!

Anyway... the Giants arent winning without Osi, and the chance of them repeating is slim anyway... and the Pats aren't winning without Brady. And Hopefully the Sox will be ousted by either the Rays or Angels(dare I say it... cus they are a close second on my list of hate).

The End.

Oh and PS.

I still think your "good riddance" attitude about Yankee stadium is childish.

I mean, if you are just saying that, then fine. i get it. But all i know is when Fenway goes someday.. I'll make my jokes and say the same kind of thing, but in reality I'll be sad to see it go. It's one of the most historic ballparks in the game, and you'll be witnessing the past vanish in front of your eyes.

That's my thought anyway.

PS. need I remind you that Timlin is my psycho X girlfriends(from Long Island) cousin? The curse is REAL. That coupled with the FORD FLEX ads will surely doom your team.

EJ, I love your comments (being serious here) they're great, and it's always a fun debate. I agree 100% on the history and importance of YS/FWP. It's just in general, pre-2004 it was a house of horrors for the Sox so....yeah, HUGE tip of the cap to the greats that played there, and the moments that occurred, but the Red Sox fan in me is glad to see it go, the baseball fan isn't (hope that makes sense).

Lastly, I think Yankee fans and Patriot fans have WAY more in common then they'd like to admit, at least the 00' Patriot teams, before that they were about as useful as a second asshole, they sucked.

In short if you're not a fan of theirs you hate em' no middle ground.

2004 World Series: Game One

  • Mounted Police
My brother Chris flew into Boston from Chicago to help me root on and pull for the Sox in the Series. We went right from Logan Airport to the Park and ended up watching the game across the street from Fenway at Bills Bar on Landsdown Street. We looked into scalping tickets but standing room only were going for $1,200 and up!This was a great and memorable day to be able to be with my brother in Boston to see the Red Sox in the World Series. This is a snap shot of two weeks of my life that provided a lot of sorrow, joy, sleep deprivation, and hangovers. Two of the best weeks of my life...
