da ex Boss

I think I know why Yankees fans chant Boston Sucks!!!

try saying Red Sox Sucks 5 times in a row real fast...

p.s. Arod is a douche

Derek Hixon

Hah ha! That's hilarious!

Ingenious marketing, Larry Luccino will somehow take credit for that no doubt :-)

dan

well to be fair, boston the city does sort of suck.

Derek Hixon

Aside from the bars closing early, I'd have to disagree with you there Dan...

Pete

C'mon now... Red Sox, Pats, Celtics? Enough already.

"Boston sucks!" ;-)

ejflex

At least Sox fans can show up and watch a ball game IN THE BLEACHERS no less, without getting their ass kicked and ketchup thrown on their Yanks jerseys. When we say BOSTON sucks... we are referring to the SOX and NE sports fans in general. you hate us because we're arrogant.. we hate you guys because you whined for s many years.. and then you were arrogant to boot instead of using an iota of modesty when you finally won. haha :)

You need two syllables. You know this. RED SOX suck... doesn't flow as good. The S throws it off... so we stick with Boston sucks. And don't throw us all in with the bleacher creatures.. most of those dudes are so blind to what is going on it's laughable... completely biased.. and they actually would take pleasure in seeing a boston fans teeth knocked out. Complete ignorance. I'm sure the Sox bleacher fans are the same breed. It's sad.

Joba won the matchup today... thats what you get for playing the extremo shift on the Giambino! I'm sure tomorrow and Sunday will be interesting.

Joba 4 life.

Great post! and it's true about yawkey, and that we sox fans are not so lovable... but no matter how much self-criticism might be warranted, seeing a bunch of jerks chant 'boston sucks'- even though it makes no sense and i've never even lived in boston proper- really does rile me up.

one point of disagreement, though. i don't respect jeter any more than any other player; while it's true he doesn't get caught up with celebrity affairs or say stupid stuff, neither do most players. and though he hits for high average, he doesn't hit for power and he has below average range at short. good player, undoubtedly, but i don't quite get the aura of reverence that surrounds him.

Derek Hixon

@ EJ: Come on man, we throw pizza at each other so what's a little katchup?!?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=AfFNnX81RTs

I kid of course.

Same ol' story, there's bad fans and good fans, I like to think we're the good variety.

PS - I think Manny has finally pulled one too many for me...

mclovin

The red sox SUCK. The yankees kick their ass every time they play. how else do you explain the yankees 26 world series rings and the redsox only having 7. Boston had the 4 B curse, Babe ruth, Buckey dent, Bill Buckner, Aronn Boone. Come talk to me when you have 26. And it will not be 86 years until our next ring.

Yeahyeah

"You need two syllables. You know this. RED SOX suck... doesn't flow as good. The S throws it off... so we stick with Boston sucks"

Smartass, Red Sox is 2 syllables and ends in an S sound... just like "Yankees". Only that fits better in the sentence "... sucks", you know why? Because the Yankees Suck!

collin

BOston Red Sox Suck SO much Yankees RULE!!!!

Derek Hixon

@collin:

Worst.......comment..........ever.

Chester

red sox are amzing!!!!!!!!!! yankees suck

NYY

Red Sox fans can talk once they've won 27 world series titles

NewYorkSucks

Yankee fans are too retarded to say red sox suck. Too many syllables. All those S's in a row scare them.

I have no respect for Jeter. He will outed teh steroid user he is eventually.

FYI ALL cities use the Yankees suck chant. Not just Boston. Check out youtube.

People hate NY because they think they are the center of the Universe. Every NY player. Every NY politician. Every NY resident.

I can prove NYers are ignorant. Especially Yankee people. Even when they lose they still play a song talking about how they are the best. Only a complete idiot would do that. Yep That would be people from NY.

NewYorkSucks

By the way the Celtics are the team no one cares about. Even before the Bruins won the SC no one cared about the Celtics until they won. Band wagon losers. Ignorant idiots like Paul Pierce makes the Celtics a joke.

2004 World Series: Game One

  • Mounted Police
My brother Chris flew into Boston from Chicago to help me root on and pull for the Sox in the Series. We went right from Logan Airport to the Park and ended up watching the game across the street from Fenway at Bills Bar on Landsdown Street. We looked into scalping tickets but standing room only were going for $1,200 and up!This was a great and memorable day to be able to be with my brother in Boston to see the Red Sox in the World Series. This is a snap shot of two weeks of my life that provided a lot of sorrow, joy, sleep deprivation, and hangovers. Two of the best weeks of my life...
