J.D. Drew Has An All-Star MVP. (SawxBlog Illustration)
I'll talk more about the assholes Yankee fans are tomorrow sometime, but for now WHAT a game! The fact that J.D. Drew got the MVP makes me happy on so many levels, and it just adds to the Red Sox send off to Yankee Stadium...just great. We won Game 0 of the World Series tonight.
PS - Wade Boggs, yeah, you're a dick too.
Sleep time.

Boggs is the biggest moron alive. He is a dick!!!
To all the J.D. Drew critics, haters, and naysayers from last year, what do you say NOW, HUH!!!!

I couldn't agree with you more! I was talking to my husband about the exact thing and what a class act Terry Francona is by playing A-Rod clean up and Rivera the way he did. Just goes to show we are with the right team!!

Is that the Mike Tyson's Punch Out picture of JD Drew?

Oh my God! Yankees fans booing Red Sox players, at Yankee Stadium!!!!! What will we see next. Wade Boggs wearing a Yankees hat, at the stadium where he won his only World Series!!!! Oh the humanity!
Just to clear it up, you guys aren't martyrs because you root for the Sox.

Tank,
Who said anything about being martyrs? It's a shame that some of the fans couldn't just enjoy the game on the one night when the color of your uniform means nothing. We're all fans of baseball and I thought, after Josh Hamilton's performance Monday night, that they could have mustered up some class. Granted, Johnny Paps ran his mouth a little bit, but to boo the guy who kept the AL in the game (JD Drew) just shows how bitter the Yankees fans are becoming.

I'm a Tigers fan, and even I thought the Yankees fans booing the Sox got old. Ok, we get it. You hate Boston. But don't you want the A.L. to win?
As for Boggs, it wouldn't have killed him to bring a Sox hat out with his Yankees hat like Winfield and Carter did with their old teams. Pretty weak.

@Tank
P.S. Boggs is still a dick.

Are you KIDDING me, criticizing the Yankees fans for booing the Sox players?
Had this been played in Fenway, you people would have had the Madonna masks tucked in your back pocket, the 'Jeter Swallows' t-shirts on underneath the Varitek jersey, and a 'Papelbon' chant would have most definitely went up in the 10th when Rivera came in.
Hypocrites, thy names are 'Sox fans'...

@ Pete: Never said Sox wouldn't have been booed Yanks in Fenway, just not to the extent, and for the retarded & false reasons, that Papelbon was booed.
I don't care about them booing Manny etc. but that was a crucial part of the game and the fans almost helped blow it with their great attitudes.
Also if the Game was in Fenway Boggs would have worn a Red Sox hat, what a d-bag.

>> just not to the extent >>
You don't know that for sure. Not that I have any great love for A-Rod, but Sox fans are notorious for jumping on the personal stuff and bringing it to the ballpark.
And if Papelbon didn't want to hear it from the fans, he shouldn't have said anything in regards to his role as a possible closer in the game.
Regardless of which stadium the game was being played in or who's been playing longer, Mo has the superior numbers *this* season. Case closed, shut up Jonny.

At least we can agree that guys like him and Clemens are complete phonies.
Posted by: Pete | July 16, 2008 at 02:16 PM
Pete I agree to agree on the Boggs/Clemens comment :-)
Posted by: Derek Hixon | July 16, 2008 at 02:17 PM
Clemens never got the yank fans to warm up to him the same way he angered the sox fans when he left. Hes a selfish bum who rode the yankee coattails to his first ws victory as a player. We would have won without him. Boggs should have worn a sox hat in my opinion, thats where he made his rep as a great hitter. Hes a suck up for wearing his yankee cap. What was he afraid he would get bood? Diiick.

My god, people: Yanks' fans and Sox fans HATE each other. Each fanbase is out to up the ante, always has been and always will be. What the hell did you expect to happen?! And it was just booing. Booing! We run each other over with cars when we're drunk, for cryin' out loud! Stop acting as if the reaction offended your innocent ears and that, had the game been at Fenway, Yankees players would have been welcomed with warm rounds of applause and homemade cookies. We stir it up with each other. It's what we do.

And hugs? A-Rod could sure use some hugs these days.
