I was fortunate to go to the game last night thanks in large part to Jeannine scoring some tickets through an ill co-worker. This was the first game I've been to in the bleachers this year and I'd have to say that, yes the seats are still a little tight, however all the seats are brand new as well as the concrete that they're sitting in. It's nothing mind blowing, but it's just great to continually see that Fenway is being persevered to be around for the long haul. From big projects like the Monster seats, to "little ones" like the new bleacher seats it just reall reassuring to see.
Aside from what turned out to be a nice night (Let's just say I didn't think it was the wisest of decisions to play "Thunderstruck" before the game) and some great seats, the game ended up being a pretty big disappointment. Haren basically owned the Red Sox batters and he got out of any of the rare jams that he found himself in. Beckett pitched an admirable game going 8.0 strong innings while also K'ing 8 in the process, however in the end Haren silenced the Sox bats and their hopes for an opening series victory.
Is it just me or does it seem like in the past five days or so the Red Sox have not only lost their swagger at home, but also against the NL. When you're losing at Fenway with Beckett on the mound that's not a normailty. Let's hope Justin Masterson can continue his masterful MLB career start as he vies to be 5-1 against Doug Davis and the D-Backs tonight.

I don't know how sick everyone else is of watching Julio Lugo, but I am fed up. I have had to watch this guy for 1 1/2 years and I am fed up. We let go of Orlando Cabrera why? Cabrera makes a little more than Julio Lugo, but is better defensively and way better offensively. If there is anyone that needs to be in the minor leagues it is Lugo. Maybe he needs to learn how to hit again. I don't know what Theo saw in him, but letting Cabrera walk away to the angels was stupid. We could of had a solid SS for 4 more years now. He is scoring around a 100 runs a year and would probably be more if he was with the Red Sox. I know the past is the past and there is nothing we can do now, but I would rather see a shortstop brought up from the minor leagues and see if he progresses than watch whatever you call Lugo. He came in with expectations of being the lead off guy that can hit and score runs. I can't take this anymore. We are paying him over 9 million dollars this year. I wish I could make that at my job and suck at my job without any consequences!
