Colon did his part to help get the Red Sox to number 6 in a row. (AP Photo)
The Red Sox extended their win streak to six last night as they defeated the Kansas City Royals 6-3. The good starting pitching continued as they got help from an old dog as opposed to the young pups who've been so good. Bartolo Colon truly could be a large factor down the stretch for the Red Sox, and he has to be one of best signings of the off-season for the Sox. He falls completely in Theo Epstein's game plan of low cost high benefit spending that may have not worked with the likes of Wade Miller or Donnelly, but certainly have with others.
You have to remember too that the Royals came into Fenway Park winners of 6 of their last 7 and much like our basketball cousins over at the Garden, the Red Sox have been defending their home court well and are now an MLB best 20-5 in the Fens. If this says anything, it says something to you, the fan, so pat yourself on the back. We're obviously a pretty valuable 10th or 6th man to both these teams, and it speaks volumes to the support the city brings to our professional teams. Heck, the Patriots were undefeated at home last year too. That Title Town thing ESPN is running is such a no brainer for Boston it's not even funny.
Dice-K goes for the sweep and lucky number 7 in a row for the Sox this afternoon and, you guessed it, he's 7-0 heading into the game. I sense a pattern developing...
PS - Go Celtics!

I'm going to be honest with you, I really had no faith in Bartolo Colon coming into this season. I didn't think he'd really be any good. He kind of reminded me of Sidney Ponson and look what he's doing for the Rangers now. I'm actually glad Colon and Ponson both proved me wrong.
You won't catch me wearing a Colon jersey anytime soon, but I'm glad he's on our side.

I say if Colon gets five wins in a row with and ERA under 3.00 you HAVE to get a Colon T-Shirt jersey :-)
Now if only Curt Schilling could come back....

I really had no hopes for Colon this year, but he surprised me last night, I think he surprised a lot of people actually.
Let's go Dice-K, I believe you can keep up what you have done thus far this season.
P.S.Go Celts
