Random 6:00am Red Sox Japan Notes

Nothing like rolling out of bed with some coffee and Red Sox. (SawxBlog Photo - Derek Hixon)
Although the Red Sox are unfortunately down 4-0 in the 4th inning right now, I figured this would be a decent time to write down some random thoughts I've had over the last couple days from watching the Sox early in the morning in Japan.
- 6:00am is way to early for me personally to get up and watch the Sox. I feel like a zombie the first few innings and my reaction time to cheer is definitely effected until I'm properly caffeinated.
- Apparently every time a fly ball is hit in Japan people automatically think it's going to be a homerun, either that, or it's a requirement to scream very loudly.
- In Japan bat boys and girls have wear helmets that look like oversized golf balls. Safety first certainly seems to be a mantra in Japan as nets line the entire foul area along the lines. Also there's a whistle that blows to alert fans a foul ball has been hit, strange.
- By the time 3:00pm in the day rolls around watching the game seems like it was days ago.
- Even in Japan, Manny is still Manny.
- I was pleasently suprised to hear "Sweet Caroline" being played during the 8th inning stretch. They also played "Shipping Up To Boston" when Paps came out yesterday, officially making the Drop Kick Murphy's over saturated.
- Watching a live real Red Sox game, no matter the time of day, is always a good thing.

Waking up to the Red Sox in the morning has been great!
What do you do for a living that you don't get up atleast by 6?
I love the Dropkick Murphys and have for a long time, but they became over saturated when my girlfriend gave me a Hallmark card that plays "Shipping up to Boston" for St. Patricks day.

Wow, Dropkick playing out of a Hallmark never thought I'd see that day. A band I was in in college used to cover "Barroom Heroes" and they sure have come a long way since then. But at least they're getting paid right?
Only a three run game in the 7th right now, so we still have a shot.
