I enjoy the blog by the by.

I don't understand Lebron rooting against Cleveland, but I dont like people just rooting for the winningest team at the time. That's a Yankees fan as far as I'm concerned (even if we are the new Yankees, MUAHAHAH)

That whole witness campaign worked great for the Cavs huh? lol.

Again if winning mean being like the Yankees then cool, I'm all for it.

However we have an owner who's MUCH different then the Yanks, and also one of the smartest and most progressive front offices in baseball.

The only reason the Red Sox have to spend so much $$$ is because they're in the same division as the Yankees, it's basically an arms race a la the Cold War.

The Red Sox spend a ton, no denying that, but there's also no denying the below:

2007 Yankees Payroll = $ 189,639,045
2007 Red Sox Payroll = $ 143,026,214

That's a difference of $46,612,831 or more money then the payrolls of four MLB teams. The Red Sox may look evil in others eyes, but they have to spend to compete with the Yanks, and even if they are evil, they'll never be as evil as the Yanks!

If you have to rely on Tim Wakefield to save you ...well you can get your Celtics and Bruins garb on because its see you next year again.
There are 3 major flops on this team:
1. JD Drew 14 mill/year
You know people blast the Yankees for stupid moves and money wasted...I give you exhibit A - the worst signing (next to Matt Clement) in their history.
2. Dice-K 15 mill/year ...what people don't realize is that he faced maybe 3 MLB-hitters in each Japanese line-up....not 9.
Two things have happenend to this guy:
a. The hitters have his number after seeing him a few times now.
b. He has little confidence out there and its obvious to all.
3. Julio Lugo 10 mill/year...Where is Orlando Cabrera when you need him? His OBP all season has been pathetic and he was supposed to be the ideal lead-off guy?

These 3 buffoons were the key signings by Wonder Boy Theo to help bring this team to the World Series.
If anything thet were a major obstacle to overcome.
I guess Francona was under pressure to play them....I say he has no backbone for playing them and it has cost them and the fans big-time.

Bottom line Wonder Boy is Blunder Boy. Most of the big signings since he took over have been failures.
You can start there with your shake-up.

Its deja vu all over again and again and gain....wait till next year.

he's an ass
i hope he goes to new york and takes the team to baltimore

    • Red Sax
This was the first time I've been to a game with my Dad since the early 90's and it was just awesome, especially with everything that happened with my Mom a few weeks ago. I know she was watching the game with us and had to have been happy to see us happy.

    2006 Marthon Monday

    • Cooking out
Marathon Monday (Patriots Day) is a great tradition in Boston. The Sox always start early in the a.m. and the marathon is on it's final stage right outside of Kenmore as the game lets out. This is a photo tour of our experiance, enjoy!

This past Mothers Day I was visiting Chicago and attended a Cubs/Phillies game. This was my first time at Wrigley Field and I was embraced by my NL cousins. Chris & I represented the Red Sox and I was congratulated on the 2004 season by numerous Cubbie fans. Here you'll find 11 pics from the game.

    2005 BDD Playoff Push Party

    • Bar & TV's
Boston.com and Boston Dirt Dogs had a playoff push party at Game On! in Fenway Park on September 19. The game didn't go so well as the Sox lost, however, a lot of people had a good time hanging out while getting to "meet" the trophy!

    2004 World Series: Game One

    • Mounted Police
My brother Chris flew into Boston from Chicago to help me root on and pull for the Sox in the Series. We went right from Logan Airport to the Park and ended up watching the game across the street from Fenway at Bills Bar on Landsdown Street. We looked into scalping tickets but standing room only were going for $1,200 and up!This was a great and memorable day to be able to be with my brother in Boston to see the Red Sox in the World Series. This is a snap shot of two weeks of my life that provided a lot of sorrow, joy, sleep deprivation, and hangovers. Two of the best weeks of my life...
