Some Random Reflections From Last Nights Game:
- Is it a coincidence that Barry Bonds was in town over the weekend, and then the next night Coco Crisp doubles his HR total for the year with two last night? ;-)
- Not sure if this is a complete Red Sox fan trait, but have you ever felt such anxiety in having the best record in baseball and an 8 game lead in the division?
- Curt Schilling's ERA is a Cheech & Chong-esque 4.20 now, and he's starting to show a little more of the Dr. Curt and Mr. Schilling side of him. One bad outing though and I'm not too worried, it was only eleven days ago when the guy should have thrown a perfect game (we're looking at you Julio Lugo).
- Speaking of Julio Lugo he's now only hitting a paltry .205. Dude's lucky he's listed as weighing 175 'cause he's barely hitting his weight right now. I swear to God trading Nomar may have won us a World Series, but may have set a new "curse" on a position.
- Seeing Edgar Renteria succeed makes bile come up in my mouth.
- Most eccentric billionaire, Ted Turner or John Henry, discuss!
- Timlin continues to look old as Manny Delcarmen pitches another scoreless inning for the Sox.
- Special hello goes out to my Mom & Dad who are loyal readers of the site, I love you guys, stay strong!!!

I was thinking the same thing about Nomar and his string of replacements! Bring back SPED!
I can't believe you have me thinking about baseball...

"I swear to God trading Nomar may have won us a World Series, but may have set a new "curse" on a position."
You two have to get your heads out of your ass if you think this. There is no curse at short stop. Your team just has no faith and tosses some of the better players if they don't produce instantly (I honestly don't know why you all have given that jackass Drew suck a long leash).
Let's see what you have had since Nomar.
2006 - Alex Gonzalez - OK, this is one that you can get away with. While never (ever) known as an offensive player, he is a gold glove caliber short stop. This year he is hitting an OK .262 with 12 HRs and 32 RBI
2005 - Edgar Renteria - this was the steal. If you want to lament over lost players, this is the guy you should be kicking yourself for. He had one off year (not even bad, just off) and you kicked him out of town as quick as possible. He hit .276 with 8 HR and 70 RBI (and 100 runs scored) with the Sox in his off year. Meanwhile giving you solid gold glove type defense.
Prior to Boston, he was a 4 time all star and hit .305, .330 and .286 in the 3 seasons prior. Since being chased out of town, all he has done is hit .293, 14, 70 in 2006 and so far this year .333, 10, 36.
You traded away Hanley Ramirez (albeit it was a great trade that got you Beckett & Lowell - one of those both win/win trades)). But he was still a short stop for you. Since being traded away, all he has done is hit .292, 17, 59 AND throw in 51 stolen bases AND scored 119 runs in 2006. This year he's hitting .321, 9, 24 and 22 stolen bases. All of this with the pathetic hitting Marlins, give him a real line-up and his numbers may be through the roof.
In 2004 you had Orlando Cabrera. He hit .294, 6, 31 for you that year (in a split year with the Expos). His last 2 seasons he has hit .282, 9, 72 a(and 95 runs and 27 stolen bases) and this year is hitting .340, 3, 39 (48 runs and 8 stolen bases).
So please don't tell me you are cursed. You guys just expect unrealistic performances non stop and chase them out of town quicker than they got here if they don't meet what you all have built up in your mind from Nomar. Stop chasing all of your players out of town and support them when they struggle. Every player has off seasons. It doesn't mean you dump them instantly.
