Well, well, it looks like Manny Ramirez is now in camp and it looks like the weird may get weirder for a bit. Gordon Edes posted this Q&A transcript with Manny's agent, Greg Genske, and it's ballsy, and odd to say the least. Click Here to Read.
All I can say is that I'm happy he's there "early" and I just hope things get more down to baseball and not and we hear a little less about car shows. Manny as we all know is Manny, and he's hitting the ground running since he's shown up.
He's already seen Dice-K throw a few pitches to him via BP, and his translator, Julian Tavarez, made this aware to anyone in earshot in the club house.
“Manny needs his running shoes, his bike, and 10 bucks for a haircut.”
I'm not even joking here, Hunter Thompson would love this stuff, let the weird begin.
More on everything that happens today later tonight. If we're lucky Manny may hold his annual Spring Training State of the Union. When he showed up last year it was the only time of the year he spoke with the media. I'm sure we'll hear a lot of:
"You know, I'm just focusing on the season, you know, playoffs and stuff..."
And this starts our pre-season '07. When the closer is annointed, the Sox will be ready for April in KC. It's always great to be here..I haven't commented in a while. Peter
