Well the deal that all of Red Sox Nation has been hoping to come true finally happened last night, with the Sox getting their man, their center fielder, their lead-off hitter, & their future in Coco Crisp. The Sox didn't cave too much to the Indians mounting requests and helped sweeten the deal with cash and maybe a PTBNL, depending if Mota goes on the DL or not.
So ladies and gentleman, welcome to the Coco Crisp era. This should be a fun ride. I, along with a lot of fans out there, am pretty damn excited about this. This also meant something else very important and true to me, I can now finally add Coco to my X-Box MVP Baseball team. (And then I started getting the dork e-mails...)
Ever since November I've been trying to re-vamp all teams in my copy of MVP Baseball to match moves going on around the league and this one was a fun one to make for obvious reasons. As you can see Johnny Demon looks completely strange in pipstripes, and Coco looks all right with Red Sox. The look on my girlfriends face (Yes. Suprisingly a guy who take pictures of a video game on T.V. with a digital camera so he can write about it in his freaking blog can somehow fool a good looking girl to date him...there is no logic behind this.) when she saw the above pictures on our camera was one of complete disgust and instant ridicule. What can I say, I'm starved for some baseball.
